Funny Things Are Happening

For those of you who have read any of my hubs, you know that I am no real fan of what is going on in the government or the world of finance. Some of the things I am reading in the news lately are really disconcerting.

One thing for certain is this focus on immigration and border security. I swear I cringe when ever I hear the words SAFETY or SECURITY those are the code words of those who are about to set upon you, and limit your freedom and your liberty entirely by your consent.

Why do I say this? Simply without firing a shot or being apprehended, you give it all way through fear. Our government and the powers to be have the average American so scared they don't have to lock us all up and throw away the key, because we do it ourselves every day. At night we all huddle in our homes with doors locked and the windows shut gathered around the TV injecting ourselves with another big ol' whopping dose of fear.  Instead of gathering as a community and looking out for each other.

It is shameful that we have been so manipulated we can no longer reasonably assess risk for ourselves as a group. For instance most people think crime is at an all time high. News flash it isn't even close and it hasn't even gone up significantly through the current economic crisis, which traditionally booms the crime rate.

Out of fear a lot of people knee jerk react and want to limit rights to guns and what not. And what is the first type of guns on the chopping block? Assault weapons! What type of gun is always touted as the gun nobody wants to take away from you? The trusty shotgun! Which one is used to murder more people by an insane factor over the other you guessed it, the shotgun! So why is the other gun so demonized? Well, because it has nothing to do with your safety my friend, just the safety of the government, while shotguns are a real threat to the average American and Assault weapons rank up there with falling coconuts as far as a threat factor goes, assault weapons put a real crimp on a governments ability to hold down the masses. Take a look at Lybia for example, that would have been over in 5 minutes if all the rebels had were a bunch of shotguns. Where am I going with this?

As you may have heard the new call to ban assault weapons is coming from the reports that all the weapons the drug cartels are using to murder their not so innocent victims are coming from here (That Being the United States). Of course in order to stop this abomination we need to curb our rights in order to protect drug dealers in Mexico from killing each other. Seriously, that is so far out there I can't believe that is even being used as an angle to limit gun ownership.

First off Mexico really isn't that Dangerous, sure it has some rough spots, but you all know there are places in LA you won't go too, and this is true in every major city and in every country, so it is a stupid premise to start the basis of an argument with.

Additionally, how did something so new as illegal immigration (1929) become some patriotic rallying point, I thought Franklin, and Jefferson and those guys were the guiding spirits on all things Patriotic, now we think, because our country decided in the panic of mass immigration from Germany, and Europe after WWI, to adopt very Fascist approaches to controlling the masses at the suggestion of the Robber Baron elite. That was somehow a guiding principle in our founding.

That is because our school systems, another Fascist creation, don't teach anything like history for fear it will be hard to perpetuate the hysteria that keeps us all in line. State of Fear I believe is the correct term for what we are seeing here.

It is like getting worked up over a nuclear plant that has no real potential to hurt anyone, while 6,000 people are dead, another 6,000 are missing and 300,000 people in Japan are homeless. Seriously, and we are focused on an industry that in its darkest moment has killed 31 people in one shot. Anyone that has distracted themselves with the nuclear hype while bodies rot should be very ashamed of themselves, not having water, food, and shelter are a hell of lot more important issues to be worried about, I.E thing that can actually kill you.
